iOS 26.2 is available, but the update brings its share of bugs

Apple just released iOS 26.2 this week. An important update for the Cupertino company which closes a year 225 marked by numerous changes. Last spring, Apple intelligence arrived in Europe with iOS 18.4. A few weeks later, the Apple brand unveiled its biggest software development in terms of the interface with iOS 26 and Liquid Glass.

To end this year full of emotions, the Cupertino company arrives with iOS 26.2. An important update, bringing its share of new features. But after only a few hours of use, user forums are already reporting a certain number of problems and bugs of all kinds.

We have listed the most important and most recurring bugs in this article:

An unstable interface

On Reddit as on X, users do not hide their dissatisfaction. When will we be entitled to a REALLY stable version of iOS 26“, they regret. Reproaches linked to an interface, in particular the control center, which does as it pleases. A bug already known to Apple teams.

No products found.

However, Apple had assured in the “fixed bugs” notes written by the developers that these display problems would disappear with iOS 26.2. This is clearly not the case for a large number of people.

Brightness problem

Less widespread, another bug seems to affect users under iOS 26.2. According to their testimonies, the brightness of the phone suddenly drops, for no apparent reason. The screen goes black, almost off. It often needs to be locked and unlocked again for the user to return to normal brightness.

Ghost notifications

Another problem affecting iPhones running iOS 26.2: ghost notifications. A real scourge on all OSes, it especially affects people with the iPhone/Apple Watch combo. The watch will start to vibrate, alerting you to the receipt of a notification. But in reality, nothing, not a message, not an alert.

Some reports on Reddit report more than 10 “ghost notifications” per day. A real problem that Apple will have to resolve quickly.

A bug specifically on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

In this specific case, only two models seem affected by the bug: the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. High-end phones would have difficulty opening certain apps. The launch of these services, generally third parties, would be impossible since the update. A very annoying bug which often requires restarting the phone to use the application in question.

All red photos

Penultimate bug that we wanted to talk to you about in this article, it concerns the Photos application and more specifically images taken from an Android device. For some strange reason, they appear tinted red on the iPhone screen.

Automatic installation

Finally some users noticed that iOS 26.2 had brought back the automatic installation of updates on their phone. Even though they didn’t want this feature enabled, it magically reappeared on their phone.

If you don’t want an update to install automatically, check your settings in the iPhone Settings app.

It’s normal to see so many bugs on a new version of iOS. Apple should quickly find a solution to correct them. Improvements to iOS 26.2 are expected in the coming days to address the most important issues.

If you are affected by one of these bugs or encounter others, tell us about your bug in the comments, we will try to help you as best as possible.
