Apple is expected to introduce new iPhones on September 9. Like every year, it is the Pro and Pro Max models which should be the most efficient. These two devices are highly anticipated and the rumors about them don’t stop.
Some analysts have focused on the aesthetic changes Apple has made this year. Others have gone further and are already looking inside the smartphone. Finally, while no one has yet seen an official rendering, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max no longer have any big secrets for these experts. Here are their 3 predictions for this year.
A brand new back
From the front, no major changes should be expected. Apple should keep the same design for its iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. It is by turning the phone over that we will be able to recognize it. The apple brand would bet on a new photo block. The three sensors will retain their iconic triangular layout, but they will be enclosed in a large, much more impressive “bar”.

Indeed, for now, the “bump” of the photo sensors on the iPhone only occupies a square at the top left of the device. This would not be the case this year with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The Cupertino company has reportedly decided to launch a large “bar” crossing the phone horizontally. A bit like Google can do on its Pixels.
An unexpected color
Still regarding design, Apple could take a small risk this year. If the iPhone Pro and Pro Max have historically been very “traditional” in the colors offered, Apple could take a gamble. In recent weeks, several rumors mention the arrival of an orange color.

According to information from Sonny Dickson, the Pro and Pro Max models will be entitled to this color, called “Dark Gold” by Apple. It would accompany more conventional models, black, gray and white.
New chips
The last important point to keep in mind before the release of these iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max is the possible addition of new chips to the phone. If the processor were to evolve, like every year, the A19 Pro chip will retain 3 nanometer engraving. We should therefore not expect a stratospheric evolution in performance.
Ultimately, it is the modems that could be the most interesting parts. Apple already introduced “C1” earlier this year with the iPhone 16e. Could this 5G modem, developed internally since 2020, arrive on the iPhone 17 Pro? Some say yes, others continue to rely on parts produced by Qualcomm.
Finally, specialists believe that Apple has already had time to correct its chip, and we should expect a C2 modem in the next iPhones. Another rumor, much more uncertain, Apple could launch its first chip for WiFi and Bluetooth. Until now it uses processors supplied by BroadCom, but the contract with Apple ended a few months ago.
In addition, we know that Apple wants to regain control of the production of several elements within its products. The arrival of this “in-house” chip could be the start of a great adventure. It should be deployed over the next year across the entire range, from the Apple Watch to the Mac and iPads.
So, if this information turns out to be verified on September 9, these iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could be right for your wallet?
