Apple has just presented iOS 26, and a functionality may be talked about when it is launched for the general public next September. The Cupertino firm has just changed its “snooze” option available for years on iPhone around the world. For those who are not familiar with this feature, The “snooze” of the iPhone allows you to push an alarm (usually upon waking) for a few minutes.
With iOS 26, Apple now allows users to manually choose the interval time between two “snooze”. In other words, it is the users who have the choice to be awakened every 2, 3, 4 or 5 minutes. Until now, this duration had been arbitrarily settled by Apple. It was fixed at nine minutes. A choice disputed by many users who considered it too long, or too short. This small adjustment on the part of Apple could therefore make a big difference for millions of people.
Concretely, it will be possible to Choose a “duration of the rehearsal” ranging from one to 15 minutes. It will be available in settings on all alarms in the iPhone clock application. You can also configure it with Siri.
How to install the beta of iOS 26?
As a reminder, iOS 26 has been available in a beta version since last week. Unlike previous years, it is possible to install the update directly from your iPhone, if the latter is compatible, without waiting for the first public beta versions.
No products found.
However, we do not advise you to take such a risk. Updating an iOS version under development is always risky. Bugs are omnipresent and Apple needs developers to correct them. By downloading the update, you may meet many bugs and several applications, especially thirds could badly (or not) work.
It will therefore be necessary to live for a few more months with a regular “snooze” of 9 minutes every morning to wake up. Until then, you can work on your sleep to jump from the bed from the first ringing, and say goodbye to this functionality for good.
