Two months after the release of the iPhone 17, some versions are already reaching unexpected heights. Like every year, the luxury brand Caviar seizes the most high-end models to transform them into expensive collector’s items.
This process is not new since Caviar has been offering luxury iPhones for several years now. For the previous generation, the company offered an iPhone 16 Pro Max inspired by imperial crowns, made entirely of solid gold and set with more than 400 stones. It was sold for more than $300,000, in a limited series of three copies.
Based in Dubai, Caviar specializes in this type of extreme customization, combining design, historical symbols and noble materials. It also released a model paying tribute to Notre-Dame de Paris, with relief in 18-carat white gold and details inspired by Gothic architecture.
This logic continues today with the Gold Collection centered on the iPhone 17, which is also accompanied by an unexpected object, a pair of sneakers customized with the image of Elon Musk.

$110,000 less than last year’s most expensive model
If you want to treat yourself to the most expensive model in the new series, you will have to pay out $197,790 for the 17 Pro Max 2TB version. This remains inaccessible for the majority of buyers, but it is still $110,000 less than the most expensive model of the iPhone 16 Pro Max offered by Caviar last year. This price corresponds to the iPhone 17 Pro Max version with 2 TB of storage. The 256 GB version, based on a classic 17 Pro, is priced at $195,860.
This ultra-limited edition pays homage to the Rolex Daytona collection. The phone incorporates a real Rolex watch in 18-karat gold, placed directly in the case. The rest of the design is inspired by 1930s racing cars, with speedometers and gold details reminiscent of the dashboard of Malcolm Campbell’s Blue Bird racing car. The body of the smartphone is made of titanium, with a black PVD coating, like on some high-end Rolex watches.
From gold to delirium
Not all models exceed the $100,000 mark. Some more “accessible” designs start around $8,200 for entry-level versionslike the Silver Black edition. This remains out of budget for most users, but well below editions set with diamonds or incorporating a watch.
Caviar is no longer limited to smartphones. The brand also offers diverted objects, such as a pair of sneakers inspired by Elon Musk’s space universe:
The base used is a Nike Air Force 1, reworked by hand with a space decor. The series is limited to 99 copies, with a price set at $1,990. Each pair comes with a certificate of authenticity, as with phones.
Even at these exorbitant prices, Caviar’s iPhones remain far from the most expensive models ever sold. Some units have already been sold for several million euros.
