We are still several months away from its launch, but the iPhone Fold is already fascinating. Rumors only talk about him and the first folding phone in Apple’s history is the object of various and varied fascinations. The latest to have mentioned this device is the user Fixed Focus Digital, present on the Chinese social network Weibo.
According to him, the production line received a direct order from Apple. The Cupertino company has reportedly requested the production of a 7.8-inch interior screen, capable of folding. It is on this point that Apple intends to do well in a market already saturated by many manufacturers, Samsung in the lead. According to data provided by Fixed Focus Digital, the crease depth on the iPhone Fold is expected to be 0.15mm. The fold angle on its side will be 2.5 degrees.
If these figures allow us to get an idea of the next iPhone Fold, it is impossible to compare them with models already on the market. No manufacturer currently publishes this data. It is therefore impossible to say that the iPhone Fold will have a duller screen than Samsung’s latest Galaxy Fold.
Other rumors nevertheless mention the use by Apple of a screen, developed by the Display branch of the South Korean manufacturer, with an almost invisible fold. This screen has never before been used in a foldable device, neither by Samsung nor by any other manufacturer in the world. Apple could be the first company on the planet to use this revolutionary display.

One screen and that’s it?
In his latest report on the iPhone Fold, financial analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tries to give an overview of the product. In addition to its interior screen which fascinates the crowds, the folding smartphone should have two rear cameras. Surely a main lens and an ultra-wide angle. A configuration already used this year on the iPhone 17.
For reasons of space, Face ID could leave the phone. You would have to use Touch ID (present on the power button) to unlock your iPhone. A gesture forgotten by everyone. Apple has not used Touch ID for almost 10 years on its high-end smartphones.
- The iPhone Fold should have the right to a screen with no or almost no visible creases
- It will be equipped with two cameras on the back, not three like the iPhone Pro
- Face ID should be the big absentee, marking the return of Touch ID
